This course has been written by e-learning professionals iQualifi Ltd and authorised in conjunction with Jerry Diplock of Diplock Health and Safety. The course will take an in-depth look into how to deal with situations of road closure and equip Stewards with the skills to ensure that both parents and local residents are kept safe and aware of the closure.

Bovey Tracey Primary school and Bovey Tracey Town Council have recently used our course to train their volunteer stewards.

You delivered a high quality training product. It has been a pleasure to work with you and I would not hesitate to recommend iQualifi.”- Sheila Brooke, Mayor & School Road Closure Supervisor.

Description

This certified training course is for stewards who maintain a School Street closure. You will learn about the responsibilities of the role, how to keep yourself safe and others safe and what to do if something unexpected happens. This course is perfect for teachers and volunteers looking to help out as stewards who want to be qualified to deal with these situations.

In addition to this training and assessment stewards should be supported by a Supervisor or Co-ordinator. Stewards must understand their school street risk assessment and will receive an on-site induction.

Our online learning platform and lessons are easy to use and clearly illustrated with real world School Street images. An optional audio recording is available. The audio describes the content and reads aloud the content.

A regulated qualification is delivered by a learning institution which is regulated by a government body. In England, the government body which regulates courses is Ofqual. Ofqual regulated qualifications sit on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF), which can help students understand how different qualifications in different fields compare to each other. The framework also helps students to understand what qualifications they need to progress towards a higher learning goal, such as a university degree or equivalent higher education award.

An endorsed course is a skills based course which has been checked over and approved by an independent awarding body. Endorsed courses are not regulated so do not result in a qualification - however, the student can usually purchase a certificate showing the awarding body's logo if they wish. Certain awarding bodies - such as Quality Licence Scheme and TQUK - have developed endorsement schemes as a way to help students select the best skills based courses for them.
